Retail Associate
Ross Stores, Inc. is a Fortune 500 off‑price retailer with more than 2,200 stores. The Retail Associate will provide a positive shopping experience for customers and support all store operations, from merchandising to customer service and loss prevention.
Key Responsibilities
- Work safely and maintain a safe and secure shopping environment.
- Greet customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly hello, and assist them at the register or with merchandise.
- Provide prompt, courteous responses to customer needs and handle issues with professionalism.
- Represent and support the Ross brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas).
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company dress code.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean and merchandised to standards.
- Expedite new merchandise receipts and merchandise items per monthly presentation guidelines.
- Follow loss‑prevention procedures, including the Loss Prevention Awareness program and Shortage Highway.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follow all policies for cash, check, charge‑card and refund transactions, voids, and offline procedures.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and minimize workflow steps.

Qualifications and Special Skills
- Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative manner.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Use all store equipment including PDTs, registers and PC.
- Spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Some assignments may require additional qualifications and skills.
- Stockroom associates may need to push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
