Overview
The Asset Protection Specialist role at The Home Depot focuses on preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in assigned stores. Responsibilities include using tools to minimize loss, identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring store security, auditing the Electronic Article Surveillance, and fostering a shrink-elimination culture in the store.
The Asset Protection Specialist must report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and perform duties in a way that minimizes risk of injury to themselves, other associates, vendors, customers, and the Company. Integrity, responsiveness to asset protection and operational concerns, and alignment with store objectives are essential.
- Identify incidents of theft and fraud, review CCTV and exception reports, monitor store security, and audit the Electronic Article Surveillance to minimize loss.
- Prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserve evidence, and interact with law enforcement.
- Testify in criminal and civil court actions as required.
- Report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and carry out responsibilities in a manner that minimizes the risk of injury to associates, vendors, customers, and the Company.
- Demonstrate integrity at all times and remain focused on store-specific business objectives while supporting asset protection and operational priorities.
