POSITION: Massage Therapist

DEPARTMENT: Clinic Staff

REPORTS TO: Office Manager

JOB TYPE: Part‑time, Non‑exempt employee

PAY: $34‑55+/hour (base + commission)

Role (Overview of the Position)

Provide exceptional massage therapy services to our valued clients at Urban Sage Acupuncture + Wellness. Work with the Office Manager to enhance the patient experience by fostering a welcoming and inclusive clinic environment.

• Perform high-quality deep tissue massages, Swedish massages, and cupping, gua sha and hot stone therapy sessions tailored to each client’s specific needs and preferences.
• Conduct thorough initial assessments to determine clients’ health history, concerns, and desired outcomes.
• Develop personalized treatment plans and recommend follow‑up sessions to support clients’ wellness goals.
• Maintain accurate and detailed client records, including treatment notes and progress reports.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers within the clinic to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for clients.
• Assist with welcoming and checking in patients, processing payments and booking

• Uphold the clinic’s standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct at all times.
• Participate in regular professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Attend 1:1 check in's and monthly team meetings

• Provide excellent massage services to a diverse client population.
• Maintain accuracy in patient charts.
• Maintain the accuracy of all collected payments.
• Resolve patient issues, questions, and concerns.
• Positive, friendly & knowledgeable.
• High school diploma or equivalency.
• A valid Massage Therapist license or certification in the state of California is required.
• Experience practicing massage therapy, with proficiency in draping, deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, and cupping techniques

• Ability to work on your own without supervision.
• Ability to upsell and book follow‑up sessions for all clients.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and musculoskeletal health.
• Dedication to ongoing learning and professional growth in the field of massage therapy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.
• Reliable and punctual, with the ability to manage a flexible part‑time schedule.
