Responsibilities- Assists with planning, coordinating and implementing a wide scope of activities with the intent of including all residents in some area of activity.
- Posts and/or distributes information and material regarding events, programs, activities, etc. Inputs and maintains material on the resident information system Vibrant.
- Drives a van or bus for scheduled special events.
- Assists with preparation of Life Enrichment Calendars for Independent Living.
- Orders necessary supplies, films, crafts, etc.
- Serves as a resource person for new residents. Ensures that all necessary forms are prepared and informational pamphlets are distributed.
- Leads a variety of activities for Independent Living.
- Works with the large sound system in the auditorium and helps coordinate use of the smaller portable sound systems for individual events.
- Works with residents/resident groups to ensure proper setup of group and resident-led meetings.
- Weekend and evening work is often required due to the nature of the position, thus flexibility of schedule is permitted with approval of the Department Director.
- Interacts courteously, tactfully and politely with managers, co-workers, residents, vendors or associates to preserve productivity and morale.
- Works closely with the Director of Life Enrichment in the development of Life Enrichment programs.
- Encourages residents to take an active part in the community and recreational programs.
- Assists residents in determining the level and quantity of activity.
- Prepares and maintains required reports, records, studies and surveys.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Activities Certification in LTC or BS in Recreational Therapy is preferred but not required. Prior experience or job-related experience is required.

Full-time, 40 hours per week, with flexibility. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with occasional evenings and weekends for special events.
