Veterinary Assistant - Overnight & Swing Shift

$1,500 Sign‑on Bonus is offered to eligible and qualified Veterinary Assistants.

Position located at Pet Emergency & Specialty South County, a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner.

Full‑timeosin. Requires weekend day availability and ability to work swing and overnight shifts (nights, weekends, holidays). Participants may be required to work beyond scheduled shifts due to heavy emergency caseloads.

• Assist and follow directions of CSR supervisor, Lead Techs, and Doctors.
• Safely restrain patients for examinations, procedures, and ultrasounds.
• Disconnect and reconnect patients from intravenous fluids.
• Operate fluid pumps and troubleshoot alarms.
• Set up patients for radiographs with appropriate safety precautions.
• Perform basic laboratory tests such as CBC/CHEM/Lytes and PCV’s.
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas—reception, exam rooms, treatment sinks, floors, cages, etc.
• Load clients and patients into exam rooms.
• Answer phone as needed.
• Maintain communication with CSR’s regarding patient care.
• Complete training and continuing education assignments on schedule.
• Work beyond regularly scheduled shifts during high‑volume emergencies.

• Veterinary Assistant credentials preferred.
• Veterinary experience.
• Animal restraint experience.
• Ability to multitask and collaborate with others.
• Accountable, self‑motivated, detail‑oriented.
• Calm underyny stressful situations.
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods.

Hourly wage: $18–$20/hour depending on experience and skill set. Full‑time benefits include:
