Fitness Coach - Chula Vista

Overview

The Fitness Coach is responsible for building positive relationships with members, participants, volunteers, and staff by actively greeting and providing excellent customer handelen and? guidance and leadership. The Coach assists members and participants with workout equipment and provide basic information to enhance the physical, mental, and spiritual health of each student.

Schedule

• Weekday closing shifts and weekends. Some weekday mornings

• Be aware of and enforce fitness center (weight room) policies at all times
• Keep workout equipment and area clean including wiping down the machines during shift as needed
• Design and deliver training/equipment orientation programs that meet individual members needs and facilitate the goals of the participant
• Provide basic information/instruction to participants regarding how to properly use the fitness equipment
• Represent the YMCA by utilizing tools管家婆? etc? (handouts, charts, brochures, etc.)
• Be punctual and professional
• Refrain from offering injury diagnosis and/or advice
• Physical ability to stand and walk for extensive periods of time and participant…
• Physical ability to lift at least 20 pounds
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
• Other duties as assigned

• Fitness background preferred, but not required
• Experience with variety of strength equipment and free weights and knowledge of current fitness trends
• Licensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and includes subsequent arrest notifications
• CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:
  • American Red Cross
  • American Heart Association
  • American Safety & Health Institute
