The children, staff and Governors of Christ Church First School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and experienced team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that has been on a significant journey of improvement and is now in a strong position, with high-quality provision and inclusion at the heart of everything we do. We are a values-driven school where high expectations, care and support go hand in hand.

Being part of the Christ Church community is both rewarding and fulfilling. You will work alongside wonderful children, supportive families and a dedicated staff team who are passionate about helping every child thrive.

Inclusion is central to our work, and we are proud of our commitment to ensuring all children feel safe, valued and successful. We are seeking a Teaching Assistant who shares this commitment and who will provide consistent, nurturing support to pupils with additional needs, working closely with class teachers and the wider school team.

This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to children's learning, development and wellbeing while contributing to the next stage of the school's continued improvement journey.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Has a friendly, positive and encouraging approach to working with children.
  • Demonstrates kindness, patience and understanding when supporting children with additional needs.
  • Works effectively as part of a team and develops strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Can work closely alongside the class teacher to support children's learning and wellbeing.
  • Is adaptable, responsive and willing to learn new strategies and approaches to support pupils' needs.
  • Maintains a calm, consistent approach that helps children feel secure and successful.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with staff, parents and external professionals.
  • Has high expectations for all children and is committed to inclusive practice.
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable and motivated to make a positive difference every day.
  • Can fully support and promote the Christian ethos and values of our Church school.
We can offer:
  • Wonderful children who are eager to learn and proud of their school.
  • A caring and supportive staff team who work hard for one another and the community they serve.
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and training.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to children's lives every day.

An ambitious and inclusive school committed to continuous improvement.
  • A supportive community school with a strong Christian ethos.

Our school has a dedicated and experienced team of teaching and support staff. We have strong links with the Church and local community, and enjoy positive relationships with our families.

Candidates are warmly encouraged to visit the school. To arrange a visit, please contact the school on or email enquiries at.org
