Marsh Gibbon School is seeking a dedicated KS1/KS2 teacher to join our small, friendly team and help shape the future of our wonderful pupils. Purpose of the role
To deliver outstanding learning opportunities and promote high standards of achievement for all pupils, playing a central role in the ongoing success of Marsh Gibbon School. Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and ambitious school culture, supporting the vision and values of the school.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality, engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum and school policies
- Set high expectations for academic achievement, behaviour, and inclusion for all pupils
- Foster a Growth Mindset approach, inspiring and motivating children to achieve their best
- Use assessment effectively to inform teaching and support pupil progress
- Create a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with the staff team, sharing ideas and supporting colleagues
- Participate in curriculum development and take on leadership opportunities as appropriate
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and the wider school community
- Undertake 10% weekly Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time, plus ECT release time if applicable
- Uphold and promote the school's vision, values, and commitment to safeguarding
- Contribute to wider school life, including extra‑curricular activities, trips, and events
- Engage in ongoing professional development and reflect on practice

Qualifications and training
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to primary education
Experience
- Successful teaching experience (in any primary phase)
- Experience of planning and delivering high‑quality lessons
- Experience supporting and including pupils with a range of needs (desirable)
- Open to Early Careers Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers
Skills and knowledge
- Excellent classroom practice and understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
- Ability to use a range of assessment methods effectively
- High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to promoting pupil welfare
