Position SummaryThe Psychiatrist provides therapy and/or medication management to identify, diagnose, and treat patients under their care.
Essential Responsibilities- Provide clinical services at or above customary practice standards and within physician qualifications, adhering to the American Medical Association’s ethics and all recognized specialty associations.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments using the bio‑psycho‑social model through discussion, observation, and analysis.
- Identify psychiatric conditions according to the DSM‑5.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans through multidisciplinary collaboration with therapists and other professionals.
- Initiate and manage psychopharmacologic treatments.
- Order and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic test results.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals when hospitalization is required.
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and families when clinically appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with medical assistants to streamline clinical workflow and optimize the patient’s experience of care.
- MD or DO required.
- ACGME‑accredited residency training program in psychiatry preferred.
- Current medical license in state of practice.
- Current and unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration in the state of practice.
- Certification from the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS).
