The candidate for this position will be responsible for monitoring all process operations of our systems, including production, quality and compliance. The candidate should also be able to recommend improvements to the process through the tracking of metrics and reporting of data. The candidate should definitely have strong technical abilities in order to succeed in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and optimize blending, saponification (for greases), cooling, and filling processes to ensure stable, capable operations (yield, cycle time, energy).
- Develop and maintain process documentation: process descriptions, batch instructions, SOPs, control parameters, and cleaning procedures.
- Lead process troubleshooting for day-to-day issues (off-spec batches, foaming, viscosity drift, temperature control, filling accuracy).
- Use statistical tools (SPC, DOE) to analyze process performance and drive improvements in quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Support new product introduction: scale-up from lab to plant, trial planning, process window definition, and post-run analysis.
- Identify and implement debottlenecking and cost reduction projects (yield improvement, rework reduction, cycle-time reduction, formulation/route optimization).
- Work with HSE and Engineering to ensure process safety, including participation in risk assessments, HAZOPs, and implementation of safeguards.
- Support compliance with relevant standards (ISO, cGMP-type requirements where applicable, Halal/RSPO if relevant) in processes and documentation.
- Train operators and supervisors on process changes, best practices, and problem-solving techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- 2–7+ years’ experience in chemical, lubricants, or grease manufacturing, ideally in batch processing environments.
- Experience with process data analysis, SPC, and basic process simulation or calculation tools.
- Familiarity with PFDs, P&IDs, basic heat and mass balance, and process safety concepts.
