Your role at Cabot is to perform complex installations and repairs across mechanical, welding, heating, or piping specialties under limited supervision. You may lead a team of in-house maintenance technicians and/or oversee the work of outside contractors, focusing on maintaining machinery, equipment and plant facilities. The position involves diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment, and supporting major plant turnaround events.

• Provide leadership and technical expertise in mechanical maintenance.
• Diagnose, repair, install, and maintain manufacturing equipment.
• Respond to escalated problems and perform equipment repairs as required.
• Lead maintenance activities during major plant turnarounds or other special events.
• Work closely with Maintenance Supervisors/Managers and Planners to identify trends and contribute to inspection and maintenance schedules.
• Maintain records of maintenance activity and spare parts inventory using computer systems.
• Participate in spare parts management and scheduled safety meetings.
• Complete required safety training and keep work areas clean.

• Vocational/technical or mechanical school background with a completed (certified) apprenticeship.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair procedures.
• Knowledge of manufacturing machines and tools, including design and applications.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and instructions.
• Proficiency in using shop power tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Flexibility to perform changing assignments, work off‑shift and after hours as needed.
