Project Accountant - Commercial Construction

Position Summary

Prepare owner billings in accordance with contractual terms and ensure job costs are processed in accordance with company internal control procedures. Manage relationships with third‑party subcontractors and the project management team to deliver superb customer service and prompt payments.

• Review owner contracts and identify contractual terms for billing purposes.
• Analyze and process job related costs in accordance with internal control procedures.
• Coordinate the billing process with the project team, prepare accurate billings on a timely basis, reconcile job costs to monthly billings and identify and communicate unbilled/late billed costs.
• Provide subcontractors with timely payments in exchange for waivers and review and compile waiver packages.
• Facilitate job closeout, prepare closed job accrual and reconcile profit (loss).
• Understand subcontractor insurance compliance and impact of cash flow on projects billed.
• Compile monthly subcontractor certified payroll reports as needed.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, preferred.
• 3 years of accounting related experience, preferred.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to multi‑task and achieve results in a dynamic and ever‑changing environment.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively, as part of a team.
• Construction or property management experience, preferred.
