Sr. Accounting Management Consultant

About The Role

Our financial services client is seeking a Sr. Accounting Management Consultant to help stabilize financial operations and support technical accounting. The consultant will serve as the senior onsite accounting leader and will play a key role in lessor accounting, financial close, audit readiness, and SOX compliance. This is a hands‑on role suited for a strong operator with deep technical expertise, particularly in equipment finance.

The engagement is based onsite in Cincinnati, OH, and our client will cover travel expenses for non‑local candidates.

Duration

• 6+ months

Location

• Cincinnati, OH (open to non‑local candidates comfortable with frequent travel)

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Oversee technical accounting related to lease classification, purchase accounting, and SEC/call reporting
• Review account reconciliations, audit documentation, and internal financial packages
• Lead and mentor a team of ~5 junior staff focused on operational accounting
• Support SOX readiness through control implementation and monitoring
• Assist with the system migration from Great Plains to Oracle and identify process enhancements
• Collaborate with shared services teams in tax, treasury, and FP&A
• Partner with a Sr. Technical Accounting Consultant on audit and reporting deliverables

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• Significant experience in lessor accounting within the equipment finance sector
• Strong background in financial close, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance
• Proven success in dynamic or high‑change environments
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present to executives and auditors
• Willingness to work onsite in Cincinnati or travel extensively during the engagement

• Experience with purchase accounting, system migrations, or IPO readiness
• Familiarity with securitization and asset‑backed lending
• History of mentoring and developing junior accounting teams
• Exposure to middle‑market or PE‑backed company transitions
