Accounting Clerk

We are looking for a reliable Accounting Clerk to join a manufacturing organization and provide day-to-day support across core accounting activities. This position contributes to accurate financial operations by handling transaction processing, maintaining organized records, and assisting with billing, payment tracking, and payroll-related support. The ideal candidate is attentive to detail, comfortable working with accounting systems and Excel, and able to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Enter and process vendor and customer financial transactions with accuracy, ensuring records are updated promptly in the accounting system.

• Review invoices and related job documentation, recording billing details correctly and supporting accurate cost tracking.

• Respond to customer questions regarding invoicing, monitor outstanding balances, and follow up on payment activity as needed.

• Keep customer account files current and well organized, including documentation tied to tax exemption status and billing requirements.

• Verify expense reports and company card purchases against receipts, then assign costs to the appropriate general ledger accounts.

• Prepare and organize completed job cost files for retention and storage in accordance with internal recordkeeping practices.

• Provide backup assistance for timekeeping-related tasks to help maintain continuity in payroll support processes.

• Contribute to month-end and year-end accounting activities by helping reconcile records and complete closing-related tasks.

• Maintain clear communication with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to support efficient resolution of accounting matters.
