Records Management Specialist
ASRC Federal, an Alaska Native owned corporation, invites a Records Management Specialist to support our nationwide contract with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by providing library and records management services. This role offers professional development, team collaboration, and tuition reimbursement for MLIS students.
Responsibilities- Use a records management system (database) for search, retrieval, and data entry.
- Apply records retention schedules to files for retention, archiving, and disposition.
- Prepare and review file plans.
- Respond to customer inquiries, participate in records organization projects, provide basic records training, and assist with records imaging.
- Assist colleagues with preparing and shipping large batches of records to off‑site storage.
- Maintain daily activity statistics and produce detailed monthly activity reports.
- High School Diploma and 3 years of related experience in a library environment or a records management position (a BA/BS or MLIS can substitute for some experience).
- Experience in filing paper and electronic records, entering data into records management systems, preparing records for disposition or retirement, and using records retention schedules.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Strong customer service, organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and on teams, effective communication, prioritization, and deadline management.
- Ability to pass a government background investigation requiring Permanent Residency or U.S. Citizenship.
