Recreation Aide - Part Time

Recreation Center Aide – part‑time position (~25 hrs/week, 4‑9 p.m.)

The Recreation Center Aide is responsible for monitoring a variety of activities for St. Monica's Recreation Center.

• Represent the St. Monica's Recreation Center with a positive, professional, courteous, tactful, and discreet attitude in all interactions with children, employees, and the general public.
• Monitor and supervise various activities in all areas of the recreation center and off‑property while on duty.
• Ensure that all rooms are attended by staff while occupied or available for children.
• Maintain constant cleanliness and sanitary conditions of equipment and toys.
• Actively supervise children to ensure safety at all times and report safety concerns immediately.
• Organize, lead, participate in, and promote activities such as arts, crafts, sports, games, hobbies, etc.; issue and monitor return of all equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and compassion toward all children, employees, guests, and members of the Society of Transfiguration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Administer basic first aid and complete Accident Report forms.
• Attend all mandatory staff meetings.
• Basic knowledge of recreational sports.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills, especially interpreting children’s needs or requests.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them.
• Flexibility in schedule to accommodate changes and unexpected issues.

• Any combination of training or experience in recreation or childcare.
• Commitment to results and a “can‑do” mindset with an emphasis on accountability.
• Excellent communication.
• Sense of humor, integrity, and impeccable work ethic.
• CPR and First Aid required, or ability to be certified upon hire.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

• Ability to access all properties in person.
• Stand, run, bend, reach above head, throw balls, etc. for 80% of the time.
• Speak, write, and communicate in English.

$17.00 – $18.00 per hour
