Job Summary:

• The Recreation Center Aide is responsible for monitoring a variety of activities for St. Monica's Recreation Center.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Serves as a representative of the St. Monica's Recreation Center by demonstrating a positive attitude and behavior with professionalism, courtesy, tact and discretion in all interactions with children, employees and the general public.
• Monitors and supervises various activities in all areas of the recreation center and off property while on duty.
• Assures that all rooms are attended by staff while room is occupied or available for children.
• Maintains constant cleanliness and sanitary conditions of equipment, toys, etc. always.
• Actively supervises children to ensure safety at all times, reports safety concerns immediately.
• Organizes, leads, participates, and promotes activities such as arts, crafts, sports, games, hobbies, etc. Issues and monitors the return of all equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Demonstrates professionalism, empathy and compassion to all children, employees and guests, and the Society of Transfiguration members at large.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Administer basic first aid, complete Accident Report Forms.
• Attend all mandatory staff meetings.
• Basic knowledge of recreational sports.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, specifically interpreting children's needs or requests.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them.
• Flexibility in schedule to accommodate changes in schedules and unexpected issues.

Education and Experience:

• Any combination of training or experience in recreation or childcare.
• Commitment to results; 'can-do' mindset with emphasis on accountability.
• Excellent communication.
• Sense of humor, integrity, impeccable work ethic.
• CPR, First Aid required or ability to be certified upon hire.
• Valid Driver's License preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to access all properties in person.
• Standing, running, bending, reaching above head, throwing balls, etc. 80% of time.
• Speaking, writing, and communicating in English.
