Construction Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to support construction engineering, administration, inspection, and oversight for municipal and ODOT projects. The role will coordinate construction activities, supervise field staff, manage project documentation, and work with agencies, contractors, municipalities, and the public.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for ODOT, counties, and local agencies.
• Administer and coordinate multiple municipal and ODOT construction projects.
• Oversee construction activities and verify compliance with contract documents and specifications.
• Supervise engineers and technicians performing construction inspection and documentation.
• Coordinate projects from pre-bid through contract closeout.
• Lead pre-construction, progress, and project meetings.
• Review pay estimates, contract modifications, work orders, and project records.
• Coordinate with municipalities, government agencies, contractors, consultants, and the public.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and field staff.
• Support RFP responses, proposals, pre-qualifications, and business development.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, related field, or applicable ODOT-certified technician qualifications.
• 2+ years of construction inspection experience.
• Experience with ODOT construction projects and specifications.
• Experience with construction inspection/testing involving:
• Concrete
• Asphalt
• Earthwork
• Utilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, government agencies, and project teams.
