Job Description & How to Apply Below
You build more than structures. You build capable crews, reliable plans, and work that meets the highest standards for safety, quality, and production. You know how to turn drawings into action, equip your team for the work ahead, and lead by example when the job gets complicated.
At SSRG, we’re looking for a Senior Structural Technician who takes ownership in the field, leads skilled work with minimal supervision, and helps the whole crew succeed.
A Legacy of Building Careers At SSRG, we tackle complex projects and solve challenges others avoid. We believe exceptional work comes from exceptional people—people who take pride in their craft, support their teammates, and care about the quality of what they leave behind.
We know our employees have lives beyond the jobsite, and we value the balance between working hard and living well. Our culture is built on trust, growth, teamwork, and shared success. Together, we're preserving history, restoring structures, and building a legacy of quality, integrity, and purpose.
What You’ll Build Read and interpret building plans and specifications to guide field work accurately
Use construction hardware and software to support overall project planning
Select equipment, tools, and materials and assemble crews to execute assigned scopes of work
Set up and erect access and shoring equipment, including aerial lifts, swing stages, scaffolding, and structural shoring
Operate skid steers, material handlers, and fork trucks in accordance with company certification standards
Complete building layout with Superintendent assistance, including corners, offsets, benchmarks, and elevations
Cross-check and verify layout performed by others to prevent rework within contract and subcontract scopes
Apply knowledge of material performance constraints in concrete, masonry, steel, and wood construction
Lead crew members in completing high-level work with minimal supervision while meeting quality, safety, and production standards
Set a professional example and support a crew environment where team members can do their best work
What You Bring High school diploma or GED4 years of field experience OSHA 30 preferred
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pound
Willingness to travel
Willingness and ability to work all necessary shifts
Fluency in reading building plans and specification
Ability to lead crews and perform high-level work with little supervision
The Bottom Line This role is for a field leader who can see the work ahead, prepare the crew, and deliver results without losing sight of safety, quality, or production. Your judgment and craftsmanship help set the standard for everyone around you.
We’re not looking for someone to simply complete tasks. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, builds trust, solves problems, and helps a crew deliver work that lasts. If that sounds like you, let’s build something great together.
