19 seeks a dynamic, engaging meteorologist for its First Alert Weather Team. The role requires superior forecasting, storytelling, graphics presentation, digital and social media expertise, and live field reporting. Responsibilities include delivering accurate, compelling forecasts on weekend newscasts and digital streaming shows.
- Forecast, produce, and present weather segments for weekend newscasts and First Alert digital streaming shows.
- Provide live coverage and clear, urgent communication during severe weather events.
- Fill in for other meteorologists’ shifts during the week as needed.
- Create and publish compelling content across digital, social, and streaming platforms.
- Collaborate with other meteorologists and producers to ensure continuity and accuracy in weather storytelling.
- Utilize the latest weather technology and graphics platforms to deliver engaging presentations.
- Mine social media and other sources for weather story ideas and audience engagement opportunities.
- Support breaking weather coverage, often outside of normally scheduled shifts.
- At least 2 years of experience as a broadcast meteorologist/weather anchor.
- Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field.
- Flexibility with respect to scheduling and/or assigned work shifts, especially considering the unpredictable nature of weather events.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
