Compensation: $21–25 / hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures while helping patients feel comfortable
  • Set up and break down the operatory post‑treatment
  • Take dental radiographs (x‑rays)
  • Manage infection control by preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
  • Provide patients with follow‑up instructions after all dental treatment procedures
  • Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health
Qualifications
  • Dental assistant certificate required where state regulations specify
  • X‑ray certification required where state regulations specify

Physical Requirements

This is a clinical working environment where potential exposure to hazardous waste and blood‑borne pathogens is possible. Requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, leaning, and bending up to 8 hours a day. Will be required to carry, transport, and use tools and equipment. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
