The College of Medicine, Department of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati is seeking an academic Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery as a multi-organ transplant surgeon for a full-time, non-tenure track position. This position joins an active faculty group and busy transplant program dedicated to a clinical practice supporting transplant patients, oncology patients, patients needing vascular access for dialysis or hepatobiliary surgeries;

resident teaching activities of surgery residents and fellows; and clinical research. The Department actively supports the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and multiplicity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.

Essential Functions
  • Perform clinical duties in general surgery, solid organ transplant, and vascular access.
  • Participate in the operating room, ward teaching, and the advising and training of fellows, surgical residents, and medical students.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to an academic career through research, teaching, and supporting the department’s academic mission.
  • Attend departmental and divisional meetings, including grand rounds and morbidity and mortality (M&M) review.
Minimum Requirements
  • MD/DO or equivalent
  • Completion of a five-year accredited residency in Surgery
  • Board eligible in General Surgery alone; and with specialty training in Transplantation Surgery.
  • Licensure by Ohio Medical Board is required by time of appointment.
  • Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
    Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
