About the School

The College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor – Educator position in Fine Arts in the School of Art.

Located within the multi-national University of Cincinnati, the School of Art hosts top-tier interdisciplinary BFA and MFA programs, as well as a BA in Art History and MA in Art Education. About the Program

The Fine Arts program provides a rigorous, experimental, and interdisciplinary environment for undergraduate and graduate students to develop as artists and thinkers. With commitments to studio practice, art history, theory, and professional development, the program emphasizes both disciplinary depth and cross‑disciplinary exploration. Students learn by making, engage with cooperative education opportunities, and connect their practice to the wider cultural and social landscape.

Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to existing course offerings, bring a unique perspective and expertise to the Fine Arts program, and foster approaches that reflect the evolving nature of contemporary artistic practice.

Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati’s School of Art seeks applications for an Assistant Professor – Educator in Fine Arts, intended to begin August 15, 2026. This full‑time, non‑tenure track position supports the School’s interdisciplinary BFA and MFA programs. We invite artist‑educators with active creative works and teaching experience to contribute to undergraduate and graduate studio and seminar courses, curriculum development, and student mentoring.

Essential Functions
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate studio and seminar courses with topics such as but not limited to:
    Introduction to Contemporary Arts and Visual Culture, Professional Practices, Senior Seminar, and/or related courses in Fine Arts across introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels – 8 (3‑credit) courses per academic year
  • Contribute to curriculum development and expand course offerings in alignment with evolving student needs
  • Support interdisciplinary approaches and experimentation in pedagogy
  • Provide service to School, College, and/or University committees such as the Program Curriculum Committee
  • Support student mentoring and professional development
