21st Century Teacher - Northern Kentucky

We're hiring teachers for our 21st Century Community Learning Centers in Northern Kentucky – become part of the Community Services team!
21st Century Teachers are responsible for providing intensive & extensive intervention services to elementary and/or secondary students, typically in the areas of mathematics & reading. Activities should be designed to prepare students for standardized tests & to teach study skills.
Starting pay is $20.00/hour

- Assist with the day-to-day operation of the site, meeting all state, local, and YMCA standards.
- Assist 21st Century Site Coordinator in creating developmentally appropriate lesson plans for Reading and Mathematics intervention sessions and implement plans with assigned students individually or in a group setting.
- Responsible for maintaining scheduled staff‑to‑child ratios, as specified by the 21st century grant by providing attentive and alert supervision.
- Document, track and maintain daily progress of the assigned students in a timely manner. Provide feedback regarding student’s progress as well as student’s behavior.
- Acknowledge student efforts, accomplishments and progress and motivate students to develop self‑confidence and reduce anxiety or fear of failure in academic work.
- Adhere to all processes, procedures, rules and regulations of the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati and each local education agency.
- Facilitate a high quality program environment that invites exploration, promotes positive play, and welcomes children.
- Assist in facilitating a positive site environment and the development of self‑control in children using positive guidance techniques; expectations match and respect children’s developing capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education and valid certification in teaching.
- Must possess current CPR and First Aid certification or be willing to obtain.
- Demonstrated competence in analyzing student’s academic needs and effectively providing solutions and support in assisting the student to reach their desired potential.
- Demonstrated ability in teaching Elementary and/or Secondary grades in multiple academic areas.
- Demonstrated ability in leadership, communication, organization, and data tracking.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer skills and software appropriate for position.
