Our client is seeking a local candidate for this role. They produce food additives using state-of-the-art drying technologies and also develop new processes and equipment for emerging clients, including chemical producers. The company designs and installs custom, skid-mounted units for both in-house use and client production facilities, working with outside fabricators. Approximately 70% of this engineer’s time will be spent in the pilot plant or on the production floor, developing new processes and equipment improvements based on input from coworkers, clients, and personal innovation.
The remaining 30% will involve process simulation (with the guidance of a senior engineer), analyzing process data, and setting up lab experiments using tools such as CFD, MATLAB, Aspen, HYSYS, Fluent, or COMSOL. The role also includes assisting engineers with CAD design work. The position offers mentoring from senior engineers on both plant and pilot processes. Compensation includes a 10% performance bonus, and salary will be commensurate with experience.
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, based in the Cincinnati area, with 5-15 years of experience in a pilot plant, research, or scale-up environment.
- Experience with Aspen, HYSYS, SIMSCI, CFD, Fluent, COMSOL, or MATLAB; strong data analysis skills required.
- Experience specifying and installing equipment (at any scale) in a lab or production setting.
- Must demonstrate strong communication skills, hands-on ability, and self-motivation.
