Position Summary
The Voice Engineer, Tier 1 is responsible for the support and maintenance of voice communication systems within the organization. This includes managing analog, voice over IP (VoIP) solutions, telephony infrastructure, and ensuring that end users devices are operating correctly. The ideal candidate should have knowledge and/or experience in telecommunication technologies, network infrastructure, and voice systems administration.
Responsibilities- Resolve tickets related to voice systems, such as hardware failures, carrier connectivity issues, and configuration errors.
- Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to identify root causes of voice system problems.
- Maintain documentation of voice system configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
- Participate in small voice system deployments, ensuring timely delivery and minimal disruption to users.
- Provide technical support for end-users, including troubleshooting VoIP phones, video conferencing equipment, and other communication devices.
- Respond to and resolve issues related to call quality, dropped calls, voicemail, and other voice system failures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of VoIP, IP telephony, analog and other voice communication systems.
- Knowledge of industry-standard voice platforms (e.g., Cisco, Avaya, etc.).
- Knowledge of networking and voice protocols.
- Ability to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot voice hardware (phones, headsets, and video conferencing equipment).
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional walking between facilities.
- Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling up to 15 lbs.
