HDR Engineering is seeking a Senior Routing and Siting Project Manager to join our environmental and power delivery team in the Mid-Atlantic region, specifically Virginia and Ohio.
Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Senior Routing and Siting Project Manager, you'll lead renewables and substation siting efforts and transmission line routing for projects across the Northeast Region and beyond.
- Act as a client manager for select clients
- Lead risk management activities for contract reviews and project deliverables
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, attorneys, planners, permitting and environmental specialists, and real estate experts
- Perform routing/siting studies, analyses and prepare associated reports
- Prepare and monitor project scope, schedule and budget
- Provide advice and direction on state filing requirements
- Prepare state-specific siting applications and environmental review documents (NEPA, etc.)
- Travel on average 20% of the time
- Perform other duties as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science or related field
- Minimum 10 years of linear project experience involving land acquisition, routing or environmental planning
- 8+ years writing proposals, developing scopes of work, budgets, schedules for complex environmental projects with multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience preparing applications for state utility regulatory agencies in the PJM footprint
- Experience providing expert witness testimony
- Understanding of permit requirements in one or more states in the Northeast Region
- Experience with medium to large planning and environmental projects
- Experience preparing or overseeing constraints mapping and required documents
- Strong conceptual, organizational, analytical, problem-solving and research abilities
- Ability to support multiple complex, time-sensitive projects effectively
- Ability to interact with design and construction teams proactively
- Preference given to local candidates
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 10 years related experience
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software and project management software
- Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal) skills and ability to interact with various design teams
