Job Description

The Advanced Product Development (APD) Digital Engineering Ecosystem (DEE) subsection is a pioneering systems organization at the forefront of military innovation. This team is responsible for developing, integrating, and deploying the DEE for a CAT 1 New Product Introduction (NPI) in Edison Works. The NPI encompasses design, development, testing, and qualification of an advanced engine concept, leveraging cutting‑edge technologies to surpass stringent customer requirements.

At the core of the initiative lies the DEE, an advanced collaborative platform providing secure, role‑based access to a centralized data repository that serves as the single source of truth for all program‑level information. The DEE integrates state‑of‑the‑art digital tools, optimized processes, innovative methodologies, and robust databases, creating a holistic ecosystem that supports the entire engine lifecycle from conception to sustained operation.

The APD DEE Engineer spearheads development, implementation, and maintenance of the DEE system, driving technical innovation while educating customers, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams on the DEE’s benefits.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Architect and maintain a cutting‑edge digital ecosystem that enhances engineering workflows, fosters collaboration, and seamlessly integrates data with customers and the Edison Works program team.
  • Create intuitive dashboards and robust APIs linked to DEE information, providing real‑time program insights to customers and leadership.
  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive DEE data management strategy that balances customer requirements with stringent IP protection protocols.
  • Optimize the handling, storage, and accessibility of diverse engineering data within the DEE, including design documentation, engine MEBULs, CAD models, simulation analyses, and test results.
  • Orchestrate the seamless integration and interoperability of digital tools within the DEE, ensuring a cohesive and efficient workflow.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or Mathematics from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a relevant position.
  • Active DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level or higher.
  • Must be able to work full‑time in the office schedule due to security requirements.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. No visa sponsorship.
Desired Skills
  • Active “Advanced program” access.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with customers and influencing teams.
  • Experience with digital tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Cameo.
  • Experience developing and maintaining APIs.
  • Experience with GE Aerospace Digital tools and processes.
  • Experience working with DoD customers and processes.
  • Experience with GE Aerospace EVM tools.
  • Implement proactive monitoring systems for DEE performance, enhancing reliability and scalability.
  • Collaborate with Digital Technology (DT) and Information Assurance (IA) teams to implement secure software solutions and coordinate networking infrastructure support.
  • Stay at the forefront of digital engineering and data analytics advancements to drive continuous improvement.
  • Integrate lean/flight deck methodologies into the DEE framework.

This role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information. Employment will be contingent upon proving you meet the status of a U.S. Person (U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or granted asylee/refugee status).
