Job SummaryWe offer a range of MEP and process piping services, including design‑build engineering for new construction and renovation, installation, specialty construction, maintenance, and energy‑efficiency solutions. The Mechanical Estimator will support project planning and execution by preparing accurate cost estimates and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future projects.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Prepare estimates used by management for planning, organizing and scheduling work.
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates.
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Review contract and bid documents; understand scope for project turnover.
- Attend walk‑throughs, pre‑bid and scope clarification meetings.
- Perform quantitative take‑off and computer entry.
- Prepare scope letters and proposals.
- Maintain relationships with customers, general contractors, vendors and subcontractors.
- Coordinate efforts with the Engineering Department when needed.
- Ensure documents are centrally saved in the company’s confidential estimating folder(s).
- Assist project managers with take‑offs and pricing changes in work.
- Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Estimating Manager with recommendations for resolution.
- Comply with all company operating policies, procedures and safety programs.
- Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or directed by executives.

PREFERRED EDUCATION And/Or EXPERIENCE- 5+ years related experience in the construction industry.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation.
- Working knowledge of federal, state and city regulations and guidelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Proficient in PDF viewers (Adobe or Blue Beam).
- Familiarity with estimating software (AutoCAD Fabrication EstMEP, Quote Soft, etc.).
- Customer Service – assure a quality response in a timely manner for both internal and external customers.
- Depth of Knowledge – offer clients the highest level of understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Solution‑Based – identify issues, focus on solutions and mitigate downtime.
