Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer – Cincinnati, Ohio
Johnson & Johnson Med Tech – Ethicon’s Robotics & Digital Solutions business is recruiting for a Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer in Cincinnati, OH. We are part of a Med Tech team that develops innovative robotics and digital solutions to transform patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Execute technical simulations to support critical device and system interactions.
- Apply computational methods, document them, and train teammates.
- Advise business partners on challenging problems across the organization.
- Provide outstanding customer service and build strong relationships.
- Understand project constraints and deliver technical solutions that reduce risk and cost while meeting schedules.
- Drive innovation of simulation impact on product development and help grow the capability.
- Develop and deploy customized/bundled functionality and automated tools.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computational Mechanics, or a related field.
- 4+ years of Modeling and Simulation experience.
- Advanced mechanical design and analysis skills, including complex mechanism design and mechanical interfaces.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and cross‑functional leadership skills.
- History of technical achievements, preferably in virtual development programs.
- Proficiency with finite element analysis software (Abaqus/FEA preferred; experience with Ansys, COMSOL, NX Nastran, MSC Marc, etc. is an advantage).
- Expertise in 3‑D CAD modeling (Solid Works preferred), free‑body diagrams, materials strength, and DOE.
- Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required.
- Must be able to work in Cincinnati.
- Advanced engineering degree.
- Experience with multibody dynamics (MSC Adams) and CFD analysis (Cradle CFD).
- Programming experience in Python and/or MATLAB.
- Leadership in multi‑functional product development teams.
- Knowledge of soft tissue mechanics and non‑linear material behaviors.
- Experience with workflow orchestration software and C++/FORTRAN subroutine development.
Base pay range: $79,000 – $127,650. Eligible for an annual performance bonus and long‑term incentive program. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short/long‑term disability, legal insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off (vacation, sick, holidays, and family time).
