We are currently hiring a Packaging Process Engineer for our Cincinnati, Ohio Brewery.
Process OverviewThe Process Engineer is responsible for enhancing manufacturing processes within the brewery. The packaging Process Engineer identifies, evaluates, develops, designs, and implements brewery improvements, packaging asset replacement/upgrade projects, bottling/canning and packaging systems optimization, process changes, and new technologies to achieve increased productivity, enhanced manufacturing/brewery flexibility and capacity, improved product quality, safer operations, and ensures environmental compliance.
What You'll Brew- Recommends manufacturing equipment and processes designed to be efficient, cost-effective, and to promote safety, quality, and reliability
- Uses Lean/6
Sigma practices to assess current equipment and processes, and makes recommendations for changes to ensure the most efficient and productive layout - Coach and engage coworkers (including operators, leads, supervisors, process leaders, and line leaders) with AM Lean tools (PDCA, CIL, 5 Whys, etc.) to increase efficiency and effectiveness of our work systems aimed at eliminating minor stops
- Help establish a feedback loop from coworkers by soliciting and acting on their input around opportunities to drive equipment and process improvements.
- Recommend improvements to equipment layout to improve process flow
- Through DMAIC, design of experiment, and focused improvement tools eliminate equipment centre breakdowns
- Conducts tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshoot/solve production problems
- Formalize findings in Standard Operating Procedures and One‑Point Lessons
- Help digitalize the shopfloor
- Identify and execute solutions to reduce change‑over time
By pay transparency law, the salary range for this role is $50,000 to $100,000 annually based on location and the experience level of the candidate. The position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance.
EducationFour‑Year bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- 3‑5 years experience in a manufacturing/CPG environment or engineering (mechanical or electrical)
- Demonstrated application of Lean/TPM
- Independently drove CI projects
- Strong PLC Knowledge
- All production roles require passing a pre‑employment physical exam to comply with specific role requirements.
- Some roles may require the use of a respirator and passing the associated fit test.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs, sometimes repeatedly.
- Regular walking and standing for long periods of time (up to 11 hours a day) on concrete, metal, and grated surfaces.
- Responsibilities may require crouching, stepping over, crawling under, bending, twisting, climbing, and reaching above head and shoulders repeatedly throughout the day.
- Responsibilities may require climbing flights of stairs, working from heights or on elevated platforms.
- Ability to wear assigned PPE (safety shoes, gloves, facemask, hearing protection and hard hat).
- Established dexterity to handle materials, operate equipment and interface with computer systems with precision.
