Ameresco is looking for a Senior Building Automation Specialist in the Cincinnati, OH area that is a highly skilled professional and is responsible for the design, programming, implementation, and optimization of complex DDC control systems used in various industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities. This role involves advanced programming and project leadership to ensure efficient control and monitoring of building and industrial processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and programming of DDC control systems, including the development of complex control algorithms, sequences, and graphics.
  • Design innovative solutions to address specific client needs and project requirements.
  • Take the lead on DDC projects, including system design, project planning, and coordination with project managers, clients, and other team members.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior programmers and engineering staff.
  • Oversee system commissioning and testing, ensuring that all components function as intended and meet design specifications.
  • Implement rigorous quality assurance and testing processes to guarantee system performance and reliability.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues related to DDC systems, including intricate sensor, actuator, and communication problems.
  • Develop and implement advanced troubleshooting techniques.
  • Create detailed documentation, including system diagrams, control sequences, and user manuals, for client reference and future maintenance.
  • Provide regular progress reports and project documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to gather project requirements, provide technical support, and deliver training on DDC system operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and address any project-related concerns promptly.
  • Ensure DDC systems meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize DDC systems for energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DDC control systems.
  • Research and propose innovative solutions to improve DDC programming and control strategies.
  • Perform all other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a related role, demonstrating progressively increasing levels of responsibility and expertise.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with DDC systems, associated hardware, and software, with advanced programming skills.
  • Proven experience in leading DDC projects and managing project teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, particularly in complex scenarios.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and team leadership.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of energy management and sustainability principles is advantageous.
