Application Engineer - Injection Molded Preforms
This is a hands‑on, high‑visibility engineering role focused on launching and supporting advanced injection molding systems used in preform production. The Application Engineer will act as a technical authority during machine commissioning, customer trials, and early production runs, working closely with sales, service, and internal engineering teams. This role is well‑suited for an engineer who enjoys being close to the process, solving real production challenges, and playing a key role in bringing new molding platforms to market.
Early impact will be significant, with increasing ownership as customer adoption grows.
- Serve as a technical application expert for injection molding systems used in preform manufacturing.
- Support machine installation, commissioning, and startup activities at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot processing, tooling interaction, and mechanical issues during trials and early production.
- Travel with sales teams to support technical evaluations, demonstrations, and customer run‑offs.
- Train field service technicians on machine operation, applications, and troubleshooting.
- Provide application‑level feedback to internal engineering, product, and service teams.
- Develop processing guidelines, application documentation, and best practices.
- Support early customer launches and help establish repeatable application standards.
- Strong hands‑on injection molding experience with preforms required.
- Solid understanding of molding mechanics, process optimization, and tooling interaction.
- Comfortable troubleshooting processing and mechanical challenges on the plant floor.
- Experience working directly with customers in a technical or application‑focused role.
- Willingness to travel 50%, with travel increasing as the installed base grows.
- Eligibility to work in North America; TN sponsorship considered if applicable.
- Relocation assistance is available, including temporary housing support during onboarding if needed.
- Role is expected to be onsite initially to support early machine launches and team development.
- Longer‑term location flexibility may be possible once systems are established.
- Travel is primarily within North America, with potential for broader exposure over time.
