Service Technician – Cincinnati, Ohio Area
Job SummaryGETNA Service Technicians provide field service support on complex electro‑mechanical systems in more than 26 national locations. They perform installations, training and electro‑mechanical preventative and remedial maintenance activities. In addition to technical aptitude, this high visibility, customer‑centric position will also provide our customers with consistent, high‑level, all‑around service and attention.
The candidate must be a U.S. citizen. This is a requirement for this position.
All offers of employment are contingent upon one’s eligibility to obtain and maintain a government security clearance sponsored by GETNA. Having an active security clearance is a plus. Security clearance is not required prior to applying; GETNA will begin the security clearance process once the right candidate is selected. Our Security Team will walk the selected candidate through the process.
Note:
This is not a software, IT or networking based position.
- Install, maintain, and support all equipment maintenance efforts, conforming to customer Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.
- Respond promptly to all maintenance calls. Document each maintenance action with time, labor, meters, resolution notes and parts used.
- Maintain exact on‑site service inventory at assigned Cincinnati facilities.
- Assist Operators and LSA to troubleshoot issues they encounter while using our equipment and provide actionable steps to resolve problems.
- Maximize the use of production equipment by training users; interpreting instructions; answering questions; providing feedback.
- Contribute ideas to improving operating instructions to be used by end users, collaborating in a Work Group setting.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; taking part in professional societies.
- Other assignments as requested by Management.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship required.
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of State Security Clearance prior to starting work.
- Up to 50% travel for backup coverage nationally or for training requirements.
- CompTIA A+ certification or other related technical certifications.
- 2‑year Associate’s degree in a technical or diagnostic field.
- 4‑year Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline (preferred).
- Technical military training can be substituted for academic training.
Please note:
Equivalent professional experience is taken into consideration if academic qualifications are not available.
- 1‑year experience in a support role and/or Help Desk (2+ years preferred).
- 2‑4 years mechatronics experience in a firsthand technical environment (5+ years preferred).
- Familiarity with electro‑mechanical devices and electro‑mechanical equipment.
- Solid working knowledge of thermal printing or laser printers would be a plus.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and be competent in disassembling and reassembling complex mechanical devices.
- Capable of working independently and effectively in a team concept without direct supervision.
- Proficient with MS Office business products.
- Excellent communication skills.
