About the Role

We are partnering with an established industrial manufacturing organisation seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support and lead critical automation and control systems across its operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer to take ownership of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), drive automation projects and improve the reliability, safety and performance of complex process operations.

You will play a key role in delivering control system upgrades, supporting operational technology infrastructure and working collaboratively with engineering, maintenance and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead DCS and Operational Technology (OT) hardware and software upgrade projects from initial planning through to commissioning.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets and resource plans for capital investment and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Programme, troubleshoot and modify control logic, HMI screens and instrumentation configurations.
• Administer and maintain control system infrastructure, including virtualised OT environments.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across control hardware, instrumentation, industrial networking, DCS and HMI platforms.
• Support the design, installation, testing and commissioning of automation systems.
• Coordinate control system maintenance activities, planned shutdowns and major maintenance projects.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, electrical drawings and control system architecture records.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, production and external contractors to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
• Provide technical leadership and support for critical control system issues when required.

Skills & Experience Required

• Experience working with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control system programming, HMI development and I/O configuration.
• Experience delivering automation projects, including implementation, testing and commissioning.

Experience in distillation, grain processing or other process-driven manufacturing environments would be highly advantageous.
