- Process high-volume multi‑state, multi‑pay‑group, full‑cycle payroll for exempt and hourly non‑exempt employees, as well as off‑cycle and supplemental payrolls throughout the year.
- Responsible for all payroll tax requirements, including completing applications, setting up state tax enrollment (SIT, SUI, local accounts) and ensuring compliance with local, state and federal agencies.
- Calculate manual checks for missing, additional and special pay requests.
- Understand garnishment requests, calculations and case review.
- Calculate and provide severance per contract.
- Set up earnings/deduction codes, memos and taxes for payroll administration.
- Audit payroll output (pay registers, change reports, UI, time‑keeping records) for accuracy and compliance before final payroll processing.
- Verify and audit contribution files to vendors.
- Maintain records of vacation, holiday and sick hours/days.
- Draft standard, ad‑hoc and specialty reports.
- Provide excellent customer service to the field, including payroll information, training, answering questions and resolving discrepancies.
- Stay current on changing federal, state and local regulations affecting pay, tax, time‑keeping, 401(k) and benefits.
- Drive annual increase and bonus calculations, analysis and payments.
- Assist in the preparation of general ledger entries, cash requirements, tax and reporting for Finance.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Experience using payroll systems, UKG preferred.
- Associate degree preferred; excellent math and accounting skills.
- Minimum 3‑5 years of high-volume payroll experience.
- Power Excel skills, HRIS & payroll software proficiency.
- APA (or similar) certification and membership preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of payroll processes, manufacturing, pay cards and payroll regulations.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, Teams and Outlook.
- Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of sensitive information.
- Exceptional time‑management and organization skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, presentations) with executive leadership, staff and external clients.
- Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision‑making; able to identify problems and develop solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Works effectively in a team as well as independently.

- $56,900 - $73,900 depending on education and experience.
