Private Client Banker at Key Bank

Job Summary

As a Private Client Banker (PCB) you will be a trusted advisor and partner to people and businesses in the Key Bank community, focusing on the entire client relationship with a plan‑based approach to financial advice. You will deliver and refer appropriate financial solutions to clients with up to $2 M in investable assets, assess their needs, gather and document client data, and offer products and services that align with their goals.

Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Embodies a strong client experience culture, meeting with clients and teammates and understanding their personal, professional, and financial impact.
  • Identifies financial wellness opportunities during conversations and provides customized recommendations, including investments and insurance products.
  • Consistently achieves individual activity, behavior, and outcome goals.
  • Builds a client referral pipeline through identification, development of internal and external centers of influence; employs disciplined prospecting and documents calls.
  • Maintains in‑depth knowledge of private client products and competitive offerings to conduct meaningful financial conversations.
  • Opens personal and business accounts (checking, savings, small‑business, deposit products, home equity, unsecured lending, certificates, etc.).
  • Develops partnerships with branch teammates and line‑of‑business partners through in‑person meetings, focusing on acquisition and deepening existing relationships.
  • Ensures compliance with operational, risk, security, and audit procedures, including appropriate documentation of client interactions.
  • Supports branch operations, assisting with Teller line transactions as needed.
  • Participates in and occasionally facilitates morning huddles and end‑of‑day debriefs.
  • Works Saturdays as directed by management.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned; responsibilities may change with or without notice.
  • Complies with all Key Bank policies and procedures, conducting business ethically and in the best interest of clients and the bank.
Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience (required).
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
Work Experience
  • Experience developing and nurturing customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referral sources for insurance and investment products (required).
  • Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques, including tele‑consulting, outside calling, prospecting, and networking (required).
  • Comfortable interacting with small‑business clients, overcoming objections, and asking fact‑finding questions (preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and rapid rapport building (required).
  • Demonstrated experience influencing partner professionals and leveraging centers of influence, such as Key Investment Services, Mortgage, and Business Banking (required).
  • Proficiency with PCs (Windows, Office, Word, Excel, etc.) (required).
  • Knowledge of digital technology (mobile, apps, web) and ability to educate clients (required).
Licenses and Certifications
  • FINRA License S6 upon hire (required).
  • FINRA License S63 upon hire (required).
  • FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE) upon hire (required).
  • Life and Health Insurance Licenses upon hire (required).
