We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to manage end-to-end payroll operations for approximately 1,300 employees across corporate, commissary, and restaurant locations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing using Paycor and maintaining compliance with all relevant labor and tax regulations. The ideal candidate will also oversee fixed asset accounting, brand development fund reporting, and regional co-op financials.
Key Responsibilities- Administer bi-weekly payroll for 1,300+ employees across multiple business units using Paycor.
- Ensure accurate calculation and entry of hours worked, tips, bonuses, deductions, benefits, and garnishments.
- Maintain accurate time and attendance records and ensure system integrity.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax and labor laws.
- Generate and distribute payroll reports to Accounting, Finance, HR, and leadership.
- Collaborate with HR and department leaders to resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries.
- Serve as the Paycor system administrator: manage updates, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with Paycor support.
- Manage 401(k) processing, reporting, and annual audits with external auditors.
- Conduct fixed asset accounting for all business units.
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting for the Skyline Brand Development Fund and various regional co-ops.
- Support internal and external audits and participate in compensation reviews.
- Identify and implement payroll process improvements and stay current on best practices and technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of payroll experience, ideally with corporate and restaurant operations.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Paycor or equivalent payroll systems.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and labor compliance requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in payroll reporting tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data with integrity.
