Overview

We’re hiring an experienced Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our Actuarial Student Program (ASP). Sage Sure, a leader in catastrophe‑exposed property insurance, offers a dynamic, entrepreneurial culture in a financially stable, growing company. In this role you will assist in providing technical and analytical assessments of complex business issues related to the development of new property products and the maintenance of existing ones, using actuarial techniques to support sophisticated pricing plans.

What

you will be doing
  • Manage interns and lead work streams and projects tied to company goals.
  • Mentor actuarial team members.
  • Continuously sophisticate and advance the science of core actuarial analytics.
  • Lead/assist the team in the evaluation of rate adequacy and indications.
  • Support the sophistication of large account pricing.
  • Provide analytical support on portfolio risk evaluation.
  • Complete support documentation for product filings with Departments of Insurance and assist with responses to rate‑related inquiries.
  • Lead/assist with research projects, including developing predictive models and visualizing results to support business decisions.
  • Perform competitive intelligence analysis.
  • Utilize and/or create models to assess profitability in current rating structures.
We’re looking for someone who has
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or a STEM‑related field.
  • 2‑4 years of experience in an actuarial role.
  • Passage of three or more actuarial exams with the goal of attaining ACAS/FCAS.
  • Solid analytical, problem‑solving, and reasoning skills.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to guiding projects across multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in Python, R, or SQL.
  • Deep desire to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Proven organizational and time‑management skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated understanding of key business drivers such as underwriting, product, reinsurance, and industry trends.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills; ability to think critically and strategically.
