Program Manager, College of Medicine, Environmental and Public Health Sciences

The Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences (DEPHS) at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a Program Manager to serve as a community engagement specialist for the Community Engagement Core (CEC) of the Center for Collaboration on Climate & Community for Health (C4H). The role supports the mission of the Center by engaging local community members, communicating exposure science and climate health information, and acting as a liaison between CEC, C4H members, researchers, and the broader community.

Overview

The successful candidate will report to the co‑directors of the CEC and work collaboratively with the C4H program coordinator. Responsibilities include translating and disseminating Center research, advancing community engagement models, maintaining web content and social media, fostering partnerships, developing cross‑center collaborations, organizing Climate Cafés and CAB meetings, managing student engagement, and supporting research project development and outreach. Travel may be required for conferences, and weekend or evening work may be expected.

Functions
  • Translate and disseminate Center research into public health knowledge for community members, health care professionals, and policymakers.
  • Advance community engagement through climate health models, citizen science practices, novel communication approaches, and data disclosure.
  • Create and maintain the CEC web page content and social media channels.
  • Foster multidirectional partnerships among C4

    Health scientists and target audiences.
  • Develop cross‑center collaboration to address emerging community‑identified climate issues.
  • Organize Climate Cafés, maintain the CEC Community Advisory Board, and develop additional community engagement opportunities.
  • Organize CEC and CAB meetings and manage students engaged in community‑centered research, events, and projects.
  • Aid with Center and CEC research project development and outreach.
  • Perform related duties as needed, including occasional travel.
Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree or seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or specialized training in lieu of the degree.

Required Experience

Three (3) years of relevant experience in environmental health science, climate health, health education, or public health.

Additional Qualifications Considered

Master’s degree in public health, health education, environmental health science, or climate health; familiarity with community/citizen engagement and outreach; excellent oral and written communication skills; proven organizational and networking abilities; proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, social media, and related communication tools.
