Join the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (COM) as a full‑time Post Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences.
Job OverviewAs a member of the collaborative laboratories of Professor David S. Newburg and Dr. Ardythe Morrow, you will conduct research on mucosal immunology, pro‑inflammatory signaling, extracellular vesicles, anaerobic fermentation by intestinal microbiota, and instrumental analysis of human milk components, leveraging advanced LC‑MS techniques and cell culture systems.
Essential Functions- Conduct research experiments in mucosal immunology, pro‑inflammatory signaling, extracellular vesicles, anaerobic fermentation by intestinal microbiota, and instrumental analysis of human milk components.
- Gather and analyze data and develop new ideas.
- Prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts and other presentations of research results.
- Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and may assist in grant writing.
- Keep informed of developments in the field to maintain and enhance professional expertise.
- Maintain lab equipment and order supplies as needed.
- Teach techniques, train, and mentor junior research staff.
- Engage in training and professional development opportunities.
- Seek career and research advice from faculty supervisor and other faculty.
- Perform related duties based on departmental needs.
Doctoral Degree in chemical or biomedical sciences.
Additional Qualifications Considered- In‑depth knowledge of mucosal immunology, pro‑inflammatory signaling, extracellular vesicles, and anaerobic fermentation by intestinal microbiota.
