The Nephrology and Hypertension Division, currently ranked # 3 in U.S. News & World Report's 2024 edition, uses a multidisciplinary approach to diagnose, treat and manage the care of children and adolescents with the entire spectrum of nephrological, urologic, and hypertensive conditions. We currently encounter over 7,000 outpatients and 7,500 inpatients annually. As a division internationally recognized for clinical, research and educational innovations, we provide our physicians with strong support and mentorship to ensure professional growth and enable them to provide world-class care.
The division provides a full range of modern diagnostic techniques in-house as many clinical assays are run in our own laboratory. The division currently employs 12 clinical MD faculty and 5 clinical nurse practitioners, further supported by a large group of nurses, dieticians, social workers, psychologists, research coordinators, and business administrators. The division currently has 10 fellows in training and has successfully matched all fellowship positions for the last 22 years through an ACGME-approved NIH-funded fellowship program.
The Department of Pediatrics is ranked #2 and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is ranked #1 on the 2024 U.S. News & World Report's Best Medical Schools and America’s Best Children's Hospitals, respectively. Among pediatric institutions, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is the second-highest ranking recipient of research grants from the National Institutes of Health.
