Eligible candidates may qualify for a hiring bonus up to $30,000 with a 2-year work commitment.

Performs routine radiographic, fluoroscopic and portable examinations in the diagnostic department of Radiology, on nursing units, outpatient areas and the surgery department.

• Takes radiographs per physician orders.
• Ensures 95% of films are satisfactory as measured by repeat rate.
• Completes exams following procedure outlined in the routine book, including signing out requests with correct information.
• Ensures all requests contain history pertinent to ordered exam.
• Versatile within the diagnostic department of Radiology.
• Can work independently in Routine room, IVP, fluoroscopy, portable (c‑arm and routine radiograph), and GU.
• Protects all patients and employees from unnecessary radiation.
• Uses technical factors that are diagnostic while not subjecting anyone to unnecessary radiation; uses shielding on patients when it does not compromise the purpose of the exam.
• Documents coning and use of lead orientation markers on all films.
• Has knowledge of front desk operations, computer systems, and reports all equipment problems to manager and Clinical Engineers.
• Schedules all exams throughout the department, alerting a supervisor when necessary.
• Uses the centralized transport program for patient transportation.
• Looks up pertinent information in the computer systems concerning patient exams, ordering, reprinting or canceling when necessary.
• Interacts professionally with other departments.
• Effectively calls in needed on‑call imaging associates as required.
• Communicates equipment problems to clinical engineering 24‑hour phone number and coworkers; alerts managers when necessary.
• Performs operationally required duties related to equipment quality assurance, regulatory compliance (ODH, Joint Commission), ordering of supplies, and scheduling of staff and hospital and departmental audits.
• Assists Radiologic Technologist Students.
• Remaining available for assignment as needed.
• Other duties as directed.

Access to patient records during normal operations to conduct the business of medical imaging is a responsibility of all designated personnel. Access is limited to records that are pertinent to patient care or regulatory requirements and occurs when necessary to carry out duties as part of the imaging team.

Confidentiality and protection of all records is the responsibility of each individual. Access may occur for the following reasons:

• Pre‑procedure in preparation for the scheduled exam.
• During the procedure in care of the patient.
• Post‑procedure to follow up on care.
• To QA processes to ensure data is correct.
• To conduct retrospective reviews for the purpose of education, research or for compliance to ODH, MQSA, ACR or other regulatory requirements.
• To respond to daily calls from patients, other departments, physicians or physician offices requesting us to access records to review historical procedure record.

Documentation of access must occur where appropriate and feasible in log form, comments in EPIC, HIM or McKesson or other available media/format. For further guidance, refer to the following TCH Policies:

Knowledge and

Skills:

• Graduation from an ARRT accredited Radiologic Technology school, or completion of on‑the‑job experience/training that allows the technologist to obtain certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, isolation and sterile techniques/procedures.
• Proficiency in patient positioning and equipment operation (x‑ray machines and printers).

Licenses &

Certifications:

Technologists must have successfully graduated from a program accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and be eligible for certification by the ARRT in Radiology. They must obtain their ARRT® certification and a valid Ohio license as a Radiographer within four weeks after starting to operate RGE.
