Senior Patient Access Specialist – Ensemble Health Partners

Ensemble Health Partners is a leading provider of technology-enabled revenue cycle management solutions for health systems, including hospitals and affiliated physician groups. We offer end‑to‑end revenue cycle solutions and a comprehensive suite of point solutions to clients across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, provide patient instructions, and collect insurance information.
  • Process physician orders, utilize an overlay tool, and provide excellent customer service measured by Press Ganey scores.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard and handle incoming, outgoing, and inter‑office calls with compassion.
  • Use quality auditing and reporting systems to correct accounts; conduct audits and provide statistical data to leadership.
  • Pre‑register patient accounts, obtain demographics, insurance, and financial liability information, and collect point‑of‑service collections and past‑due balances.
  • Explain treatment consent, collect signatures, and distribute relevant documentation (e.g., Medicare, Tricare, MOON, Consent forms).
  • Review insurance eligibility, select appropriate plan codes, enter benefit data, and assist with a clean claim rate.
  • Screen medical necessity with ABN software and document necessary forms.
Employment Qualifications
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) and/or CRCR, Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (company‑paid).
  • Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in patient access or a leadership role.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • In‑depth knowledge of revenue cycle, admission, billing, payments, denials, insurance authorizations, benefits verification, medical terminology, CPT or procedure codes.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to provide compassionate customer service.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with revenue cycle processes and patient insurance verification.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, CPT, and procedure codes.
