Position Description

The Program Manager (PM) Position is multi-faceted due to the variety of services that may be provided by this staff member depending on their specific caseload, including behavioral health treatment, support services and/or oversight/management of others providing direct therapeutic behavior intervention services in a facility or school based environment. This position also functions as a Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS).

Primary job responsibility is to provide supportive services to the direct care/service providers who work with children with Autism and/or related disorders within the agencys’ program following Behavioral methods and procedures.

This position will receive 1 :1 and/or group supervision from Transitions Behavioral Health Supervisors and/or Directors through direct observation, clinical meetings, and/or videos. Different supervision based on the service provided or work being completed(i.e. special therapies) may provide supervision. In addition, PMs are required to attend team meetings, professional development sessions per their specific staff development plan, and scheduled training as part of their position.

Minimum Requirements , Knowledge, and Skills
  • Knowledge and ability to competently perform in lower status positions withinthe department/organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; communicate effectively including in a timely manner following company requirements (within 24 hours); model of quality documentation; proactive communication with leadership
  • Excellent teamwork and leadership skills; model of professionalism and implementation of all policies, procedures, laws, and regulations including meeting ongoing background check requirements
  • Knowledge and competent use of computer, internet navigation, email management, electronic health record systems
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to situational events
  • Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills
  • Reliable, punctual, excellent attendance (e.g., has reliable transportation to and from work)
  • Respond positively to and immediately implement feedback accordingly
  • Ability to positively interact with clients, families, and other stakeholders
  • Knowledge of current and evidence-based practices for behavioral health treatment
Credentials Required

High School diploma

Credentials Preferred

RBT, BCaBA, or BCBA

Education and/or Experience Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.and have at least 2 years experience managing others. Recommended 3+ years of experience in a related field and/or a Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in Psychology, Education, Social Work or another related degree.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Competencies
  • Initiating services for EIBI by assessing their current levels of performance, setting up treatment binders, completing motivational/choice inventories, and program materials.
  • Ongoing management of EIBI interventions through feedback and consultation with behavior technicians, modeling of skills and interventions to behavior technicians, monitoring and updating client’s treatment binders, and introducing new acquisition programs as clients master programs.
  • Managing problem behaviors and collecting behavior data by training and demonstrating emotional regulation skills, replacement behaviors, and proactive strategies that behavior technicians can use with clients, as well as collecting and reviewing data collected about clients’ behavior.
  • Building rapport with clients by demonstrating a safe environment through the use of visual tools, motivational strategies, and reinforcement delivery.
  • Demonstrating professional behavior with colleagues, supervisors, clients’ families, and outside agency professionals through professional dress, language, timely responses, and having good attendance.
