Infusion IV Pharm Technician, First Shift, Infusion Pharmacy, West Chester Hospital, UC Health.

We are hiring a full-time Infusion Certified Pharmacy Technician at West Chester Hospital. A $7,500 sign‑on bonus is offered.

Qualifications
  • Education
    • High School Diploma or GED (minimum).
    • Associate degree preferred.
  • License & Certification
    • Current pharmacy technician registration by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
    • Current certified technician certificate (approved by Ohio BOP).
    • Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) certification required within one year of hire.
    • Maintain registration and certification throughout employment.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years equivalent experience. Preferred 5 years.
  • Required Skills and Knowledge
    • Work independently with minimal direct supervision.
    • Cooperate with health‑system and pharmacy staff; handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changing workload.
    • Set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergent requests.
    • Exercise sound professional judgment, communicate effectively orally and in writing.
    • Meet pharmaceutical care needs of patient populations served by UC Health.
Responsibilities
  • Engages in population‑appropriate communication.
    • Knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks.
    • Provides clear instructions to patients/families regarding treatment.
    • Involves family/guardian in assessment, initial treatment, and continuing care.
    • Identifies physical limitations and deploys intervention when necessary.
    • Recognizes and responds to behavioral health problems.
    • Interprets population‑related data and plans care appropriately.
    • Recognizes and responds to religious/cultural norms; performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely.
    • Recognizes and responds to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect.
  • Procures and distributes medication orders per prescriber request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
    • Accepts new written, faxed, or electronic prescription orders.
    • Enters information into and retrieves information from a database or patient profile.
    • Prepares and affixes medication labels.
    • Counts and pours dangerous drugs into containers prior to dispensing by a pharmacist.
    • Prepares non‑sterile compounds.
    • Replenishes medications in automated dispensing cabinets, medication carts, medication kits, emergency drug containers, and floor stock areas accurately.
    • Prepares intravenous admixtures and other sterile preparations (including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition) safely and accurately using appropriate techniques.
    • Delivers medications and supplies to patient‑care and ancillary areas per established schedule.
  • Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
    • Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing medications and supplies in appropriate locations.
    • Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration.
    • Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable medications.
