The Radiotherapy Technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, applies diagnostic imaging skills using ionizing radiation safely and effectively.

• Obtains patient’s clinical history and appropriate lab work, ensuring documentation is available for use by a licensed practitioner.
• Positions and immobilizes patients to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
• Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self and others.
• Performs radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment and associated accessories.
• Verifies informed consent and completes pre- and post‑procedure documentation.
• Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures and applies appropriate aseptic technique as needed.

• Associate’s degree from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred).

• Certification and Registration with ARRT (required).
• State licensure (preferred).
• BLS Basic Life Support—American Heart Association (required).

• 1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred).
• Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred).
