Job SummaryThe Radiotherapy Technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, applies diagnostic imaging skills using ionizing radiation safely and effectively.
Essential Functions- Obtains patient’s clinical history and appropriate lab work, ensuring documentation is available for use by a licensed practitioner.
- Positions and immobilizes patients to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
- Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self and others.
- Performs radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment and associated accessories.
- Verifies informed consent and completes pre- and post‑procedure documentation.
- Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures and applies appropriate aseptic technique as needed.
- Associate’s degree from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred).
- Certification and Registration with ARRT (required).
- State licensure (preferred).
- BLS Basic Life Support—American Heart Association (required).
- 1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred).
- Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred).
