Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech/Xray Tech) – PRN – The Jewish Hospital

Bon Secours Mercy Health is looking for a dedicated Radiology Technologist to provide diagnostic imaging services at The Jewish Hospital. This position is pay‑rate/PRN (part‑time) and honors our core values of compassion, integrity, human dignity and service.

Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, applies diagnostic imaging techniques safely using ionizing radiation.

Essential Functions
  • Obtain patient’s clinical history and laboratory work, ensuring documentation is available for a licensed practitioner.
  • Position and immobilize the patient to best demonstrate the anatomic area while respecting patient comfort.
  • Apply radiation‑protection principles to minimize exposure to the patient, self and others.
  • Perform radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment and accessories.
  • Verify informed consent and complete pre‑ and post‑procedure documentation.
  • Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures, applying aseptic technique as needed.
Education
  • Associate’s degree from an ARRT accredited program (preferred).
Required Licensing & Certifications
  • Certification and Registration with ARRT (required).
  • State licensure (preferred).
  • BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required).
Experience
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care.
  • Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred).
Skills & Abilities
  • Patient‑centered care.
  • Monitoring patient conditions during examination.
  • Record keeping of patient medical histories.
  • Team collaboration across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking.
