Registered Nurse

• Compliance – sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards; support leadership in compliance efforts; monitor safety and departmental policies; ensure all individual certifications and Safety College requirements; identify and share safety best practices.
• Uses systems thinking – see patient and family within unit; support family through care coordination; sustain regulatory compliance; monitor and comply with safety and departmental policies; ensure certification compliance; communicate safety concerns to leadership.
• Clinical judgment – collect clinical data; follow algorithms, decision trees, and protocols; document plan of care and outcomes; anticipate future needs; maintain safe environment; integrate age‑specific concepts; facilitate patient and family learning using teach‑back.
• Clinical inquiry & performance review – follow standards and guidelines; implement clinical changes; recognize need for further learning; use self‑appraisal; support peer and student learning; identify and evaluate safety best practices.
• Collaborate with team – participate in shared decision making; engage interdisciplinary team in meetings; contribute to shared governance at point‑of‑care.
• Interprofessional practice – integrate the Interprofessional Practice Model in all aspects of practice.
• Advocacy & inclusion – advocate for patient and family; assess personal values; recognize ethical conflicts; represent patient when unable to represent self; incorporate culturally inclusive concepts.
• Patient care – integrate age‑specific and culturally inclusive concepts into patient care, considering chronological age and developmental functioning.

• Associate/Diploma prepared RN from ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA accredited institution; 2+ years experience. If hired without BSN or MSN, enroll in BSN or MSN program within 1 year and complete within 5 years.
• Preferred: BSN or MSN from accredited institution.
• Active Ohio RN license; may be required to obtain additional state licensure.
• Foreign graduates must have license validated through Tru Merit per Ohio Board of Nursing code for Foreign Graduates.
