Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join our Portable Optical Program
, providing comprehensive eye exams to students across various school districts, directly onsite in schools. This is an exciting opportunity to enjoy work-life balance while making a meaningful impact on children’s vision and overall health. You will practice at the top of your license in a team-based, integrated care setting.

- Perform comprehensive eye exams and provide accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Deliver clear and compassionate communication of results and recommendations to patients, parents, and educators.
- Train staff in clinical procedures, HIPAA compliance, coding/billing, and patient flow.
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Foster positive relationships with patients, families, and school partners.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Coach and develop staff to optimize clinic operations in a mobile/portable setting.
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree.
- ABO Certification or State Licensure.
- Strong knowledge of optical theories and practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, practice management, and EHR systems.
- Leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Background in pediatrics or vision therapy.
- Experience with optical dispensing.
- Previous work in a Federally Qualified Health Center.
- Experience providing care in school or portable/mobile clinic settings.
