Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join our Portable Optical Program
, providing comprehensive eye exams to students across various school districts, directly onsite in schools. This is an exciting opportunity to enjoy work-life balance while making a meaningful impact on children’s vision and overall health. You will practice at the top of your license in a team-based, integrated care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive eye exams and provide accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Deliver clear and compassionate communication of results and recommendations to patients, parents, and educators.
  • Train staff in clinical procedures, HIPAA compliance, coding/billing, and patient flow.
  • Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Foster positive relationships with patients, families, and school partners.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Coach and develop staff to optimize clinic operations in a mobile/portable setting.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree.
  • ABO Certification or State Licensure.
  • Strong knowledge of optical theories and practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, practice management, and EHR systems.
  • Leadership and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in pediatrics or vision therapy.
  • Experience with optical dispensing.
  • Previous work in a Federally Qualified Health Center.
  • Experience providing care in school or portable/mobile clinic settings.
